2016 - S.O.T.O. - DIVAK

O vocalista Jeff Scott Soto traz ao Brasil seu projeto S.O.T.O. no próximo mês de maio - abrindo os shows do The Winery Dogs por aqui. Mas antes disso, no começo de abril, tem disco novo do projeto chegando às lojas.



O álbum, segundo do S.O.T.O., recebeu o nome de "DIVAK" e é formada, além de Jeff Scott Soto, por Jorge Salán (guitarrista, ex-Mägo de Oz), David Z (baixista, ZO2) e os brasileiros BJ (teclados, guitarra) e Edu Cominato (bateria). 

O repertório contará com 13 faixas, listadas abaixo, na edição padrão e mais cinco gravadas ao vivo nas edições digitais. No iTunes/Apple Music, o disco ainda terá mais duas músicas, "My Life" e "Cracking The Stone".

20/10/1977: Membros do Lynyrd Skynyrd morrem em acidente aéreo

Em 20 de outubro de 1977, 26 pessoas, incluindo os músicos, roadies e tripulação, partiram em direção ao estado de Lousiana no avião particular da banda, um Convair 240. Apresentando falhas mecânicas (apontando que tenha sido a quantidade insuficiente de combustivel para cobrir a distancia), o avião caiu numa floresta perto de Mississipi. O vocalista Ronnie Van Zant e o guitarrista Steve Gaines morrem na hora, enquanto Cassie Gaines, sua irmã, com a garganta cortada de ponta a ponta, chora e agoniza até morrer no colo de dois dos músicos sobreviventes - este relato foi divulgado por um dos músicos sobreviventes do desastre, apesar de ter sido desmentido pelos médicos que fizeram a autópsia dos corpos. Apenas uma semana antes do acidente havia sido lançado o álbum "Street Survivors" que mostrava na capa a banda em meio a fogo. O disco foi recolhido pela gravadora e a capa trocada após o acidente, tornando-se a original uma raridade.

De certa forma este será o (Provável) álbum de despedida do Pink Floyd - na verdade, em muitos aspectos - a banda mais expressiva do final da década de 1970 que dividiu a década com um punhado de outros gigantes.
São 18 faixas, quase totalmente instrumentais, o álbum que, embora lançado como um único disco é dividido no encarte, e na estrutura, em quatro "lados" cujas canções  fluem e se encaixam quase perfeitamente uma a uma.
Alude aos princípios mais elevados e pensamentos mais profundos e fornece seu próprio estímulo visual belíssimo e indescritível.
O novo álbum do Pink Floyd The Endless River não desbrava nenhum novo território, o que é excelente para quem partilha desta longa viagem com eles.


 Na foto o tecladista Rick Wright (já falecido) era parceiro importante na formação do PF.

 Desafiando o tempo, construíndo e reconstruíndo o rock progressivo, Dave Gilmour e Nick Mason fizeram do Floyd a mais importante de todas as bandas progressivas do planeta.

 Dependendo da linha filosófica de quem ouve, o CD fala do tempo passando lentamente ou da vida contínua ou talvez daquele sentimento que somente quem é fã de Floyd tinha quando alguém colocava “Dark Side of the Moon” ou “Wish You Were Here” no toca discos no final da noite e o tempo parava, lentamente, elevava nossas almas ao lado escuro da lua onde podiamos desejar e sussurrar: - queria você aquí!

ELP - Works On The Road 1977


Registrados em 1977 nos EUA, estes dois cd's captam o trio alguns dias depois do lançamento de Works Volume 2, sem o acompanhamento de orquestra.





Gravações perfeitas e cristalinas, com baixíssimo ruído da platéia.
O repertório é bem parecido com o de In Concert (1979), mas esses "Works On The Road" apresenta algumas surpresas muito legais como os 17 minutos de Tarkus, Hoedown, Take A Pebble, Lucky Man, Nutrocker e Pirates, ou seja, músicas que não estão no disco oficial citado.
