Na volta ao seu "berço", Rock in Rio custará cerca de R$ 135 milhões
Cidade do Rock servirá como área de lazer para atletas na Olimpíada de 2016
Aguardado ansiosamente pelos fãs da música, o retorno do Rock in Rio ao Rio de Janeiro, em agosto de 2011, custará caro. Ao todo, serão investidos no evento cerca de R$ 135 milhões. A pedra fundamental do projeto foi lançada nesta quinta-feira (9), quando o prefeito Eduardo Paes deu início à construção do Parque Olímpico Cidade do Rock. As obras devem durar de oito a nove meses.
A Prefeitura do Rio bancará a menor parte. Além de ter liberado aproximadamente R$ 8 milhões para a compra do terreno, que fica em Jacarepaguá, zona oeste, o município ainda investirá mais R$ 37 milhões.
A organização do Rock in Rio terá de abrir os cofres. O gasto total será de R$ 90 milhões.
O montante será dividido entre as atrações, cerca de R$ 60 milhões, e investimento na área de comunicação, incluindo publicidade do evento, em torno de R$ 30 milhões.
Organizadora do evento, Roberta Medina comemorou o acordo com a Prefeitura.
- A partir de agora, o Rio não perderá mais grandes shows. Teremos um espaço capaz de receber qualquer atração.
Até os Jogos Olímpicos do Rio, em 2016, a cidade receberá três edições do Rock in Rio, com o intervalo de dois anos entre cada uma delas. Em 2011, o evento, que volta a seu “berço” depois de dez anos e seis edições na Europa, será realizado no dias 23, 24, 25 e 30 de setembro e 1º e 2 de outubro.

Notes: In any event, the quality of the sound is outstanding with clear signal up to 17,000Hz. The most obvious problem with the show was the tonality. The sub-bass components were very excessive. Additional adjustments to the bass section were also needed to balance the tone. Small adjustments in the mid-range and treble sections were made to enhance detail. Hiss was also a problem and its reduction allowed more subtle sections of the music to be better appreciated. Audience noise was a big problem. Applause was excessively loud and whistlers seemed to congregate around the taper. Permanent hearing loss could be the result of listening to the raw version of this show through headphones due to the volume of these whistles. Lots of time was taken to reduce the whistles and other audience noises. Cuts in the recording did occur but were only found during applause sections. Mix-pasting fixed this minor flaw and allowed a continuous listening experience. Finally, the discs were re-balanced to roughly equalize the amount of music on each disc. <-(Info taken from prrp-music.org) .

MIKE OLDFIELD - Elements [4CD BOX SET] - 1993
Mike Oldfield nasceu na Inglaterra em 1953, o multi instrumentista estabeleceu um marco na música com seu álbum de 1973, Tubular Bells. Oldfield começou a sua carreira musical tocando música popular e com sua irmã Sally formaram o Sallyangie, após o qual ele se juntou com seu irmão Terry no Barefoot banda de rock antes de ir para juntar Kevin Ayers em Todo o Mundo. Seus dois anos com a banda produziu os álbuns whatevershebringswesing e Shooting at the Moon, depois que ele deixou de trabalhar em suas próprias idéias. Em 1973 Oldfield lançou Tubular Bells, uma peça de duas partes instrumentais que introduziu temas e desenvolveu-os em um estilo clássico. Oldfield tocou a maior parte dos instrumentos ele mesmo, multiplicando-os na gravação, o que era uma raridade na época. Ele convenceu Richard Branson para fazer Tubular Bells, não são consideradas como um pop tradicional, o álbum de estréia da nova gravadora Virgin Records de Branson. O álbum foi um enorme sucesso comercial, o estabelecimento de Mike Oldfield e a garantia do futuro para a Virgin Records. O álbum ficou 279 semanas nas paradas e está entre os álbuns mais vendidos no Reino Unido. A música foi usada mais tarde em 1974 no filme "O Exorcista", pelo qual recebeu o Prêmio Grammy de Melhor Composição Instrumental. O acompanhamento Hergest Ridge foi a número 1 no Reino Unido.Gravações subseqüentes não conseguiram igualar o sucesso comercial de Tubular Bells, embora a sua música provou ser um sucesso para outros artistas, Hall & Oates com cover de "Family Man" foi um hit top dez do Reino Unido e EUA, enquanto Bonnie Tyler emplacou com "Islands".
